Oil dries slower but the colours, the scent, are so inspiring to work with. In the slowness the subconscious can control more than the conscious and that is the process I use as my starting point.
I design an image on the plate and start a process which continues through the different tasks in the workshop. The end result is unpredictable which adds excitement.
In my pen and ink drawings i use small figures and shapes which form larger patterns in parts of the image. They become documents, a stream of moments.
Acrylic allows for quick and sometimes intense painting. The fast drying leaves more space for intuitive strokes. I can edit and change.
